FITTY @ ANDY WARHOL - AI WEIWEI EXHIBITION

National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne

Ai Weiwei has created some amazing art over the years and I am taken back by his creativity and the messages they carry. Each new room carried new meaning and with many contrasts and compliments between Warhol's art and Weiwei's art. The highlights for me were 'Blossom', 'Study of Perspective', 'Forever Bicycles' and 'Letgo Room'. 'Blossom' is a garden bed of flowers made from porcelain and unfortunately photos do not do it justice. 'Study of Perspective' are a series of photographs where Ai is flipping off renown landmarks. I did a classic flipping off photo myself and even that felt rebellious to me. I'm not rebellious by nature. 'Forever Bicycles' is the installation in the center of the NGV currently. It's stacks on stacks of bicycles and there are security guards on constantly surveillance. 'Letgo Room' consists of two million blocks of Lego which had been donated by locals and collected from around the world. The installation features portraits and quotes by Australian activists and freedom of speech. .I highly recommend going to the exhibition before it closes on April 24, 2016.

FITTY ON 2015

Today is the last day of 2015 and it started with a absolute ripper so I hope it ends in a similar fashion. I've managed to do quite a bit this year and next year is just going to be better and busier. Definitely busier (work colleagues will testify).

FITTY @ GINGERBREAD VILLAGE by EPICURE

Melbourne Town Hall, Melbourne CBD

This wonderful Christmas event is in it's fifth year and replicates a number of iconic Melbourne venues. Apart from letting the heavenly scent of gingerbread overwhelm you, you'll also be able to see some amazing food art. The details of each scene is impeccable and really is just another reason I love this great city and the people in it. This was my first visit to the Gingerbread Village and definitely not my last. Beware that queue times can go for 45 minutes+ but it is a great family event.

FITTY @ NIGHT NOODLE MARKETS

Birrarung Marr, Melbourne

Having missed the Night Noodle Markets last year, I couldn't pass it up this year. Melbourne's food culture and night life has lifted in the past few years and the 夜面市场 perfectly show cases what Melbourne has to offer. This year one of the main highlights was 'Black Star Pastry' travelling from Sydney to take part in the event. You'll see the beautiful 'Cake Smash' gelato which was a collaboration between Black Star Pastry x N2 Extreme Gelato. Black Star Pastry's Strawberry Watermelon Cake with Rose Scented Cream is magnificent and was a highlight for many at the market.

FITTY IN BEIJING

Beijing, The Capital.

A picture says a thousand words and I have many photos of Beijing. I was engrossed by the history, landmarks and expectations in China. The traffic was terrible, the tourists were rude, the pollution was heavy and don't even ask about hygiene. However, compared to my last trip to Gui Lin and what I had built up before landing, it's getting better. The Great Wall was a highlight for me and visiting Tianjin (market with 50cent melon ice cream). We had peking duck only once and didn't dare eat the street food. We ended the tour with a relaxing foot massage in the Olympic village and shopping at Silk Street.

I hope to be back again but in the not-so-near future.
